Ready Allies: A Guide to Recognizing, Responding to, and Preventing Gender-Based Violence Against LBTIQ+ Girls – Report
This guide by Kolektiv MANA, developed as part of the “Equipping for Allyship” project, equips youth workers, teachers and pedagogues to recognize, respond to, and support LBTIQ+ girls affected by gender-based violence — especially in smaller communities without dedicated support centers. Structured in three modules, it covers LGBTIQ+ inclusion and terminology (using tools like the Genderbread Person to explain sex, gender identity, gender expression and attraction), the concept and forms of gender-based violence (physical, economic, psychological, sexual, emotional, institutional and medical, illustrated with concrete examples affecting LBTIQ+ women), and the distinction between discrimination and gender-based violence. It closes with practice-oriented recommendations for allies working directly with young people.
