Lee Badgett

Economist, author, and one of the most well-known academics focusing on the economic effects of discrimination and violence against LGBTI people. She develops ideas and knowledge on how LGBTI people can gain economic power and lead better lives. Lee is a Professor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a co-founder of Koppa – The LGBTI+ Economic Power Lab, with a mission to unleash global LGBTI+ economic power through knowledge, financing, and connection.
