Rome will host the next EL*C Conference in 2025

Rome Will Host EL*C #4 Conference in 2025

Save the date, lesbians! We are thrilled to announce that our next EL*C Conference will take place in Rome, Italy, from April 23 to April 26, 2025.

The choice of location responds to the ongoing attack on lesbian rights in Italy, which culminated in 2023 with the removal of lesbian mothers from their children’s birth certificates. This discriminatory action has mobilized the Italian lesbian movement, which continues to fight tirelessly for recognition and equal rights. By gathering in Rome, we aim to amplify lesbian voices and stand in solidarity with our Italian sisters and siblings, demonstrating our commitment to justice and human rights. This conference also stands as a united response to broader governmental attacks against women’s rights, access to abortion, trans people and the wider LGBTI community, migrants, refugees, and Roma people

This upcoming conference promises to be a gathering celebrating the strength and unity of our community. Previous EL*C conferences have been transformative experiences, bringing together lesbians from across Europe and Central Asia to share knowledge, build networks, and empower each other. These events have fostered a spirit of solidarity and activism, leaving participants inspired to continue the struggle for lesbian rights.

Attendees can look forward to a schedule filled with lesbian activism, feminist discourse, and ample opportunities to connect with fellow human rights defenders. Whether you are a seasoned activist or new to the movement, you will find a supportive and dynamic community ready to embrace you.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment. Our conference is trans-inclusive and open to all who share our passion for advancing lesbian rights.

Stay tuned for more details on registration, scholarships, and ticket information. We look forward to seeing you in Rome, where we will come together once again to strengthen our collective resolve in the struggle for equality and justice.
