Kika Fumero (49) is a Spanish feminist and lesbian activist. Her expertise lies in various fields related to gender equality, gender-based violence, co-education, and human rights activism. Currently, she is a public policy advisor and a passionate researcher. She is the initiator of the “Mask-19 campaign,” an initiative aimed at protecting women victims of gender-based violence during the COVID-19 lockdown, providing them with a tool to seek help through pharmacies. It was recognized as a best practice by UN Women and awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Equality in 2020. She has collaborated as an expert on gender-based violence in several international projects, such as the International Conference “Outils de signalement. Partage d’expériences pour renforcer les outils de signalement pour les victimes de violence” organized by the OECD; at the TAIEX Workshop on the care of women victims of violence at the local level organized in cooperation with the National Commission for the Care of Women Victims of Violence, Kingdom of Morocco (February 2020); and at the “Supporting vulnerable groups and the continuity of local and critical services during the Covid-19 pandemic” project implemented by the OECD in Tunisia in 2020-2021. She is the co-author of “Schools Free of Sexist Violence” (2016), and “Lesbians, That’s the Way We Are” (2018).
