This year, WAVE—the European network of women’s specialist services combating gender-based violence—and EL*C—the European network dedicated to LBTI women and communities—are joining forces to offer a unique training and advocacy experience. We will welcome 15 EL*C members and 12 WAVE members to join us in Brussels from 4 to 6 November 2025!
This year, we will focus on strengthening our advocacy skills and deepening the connections between LBTI organisations and women’s specialist services, as we strategise together to: resist the ongoing anti-gender backlash; improve policies and services to combat gender-based violence; and centre LBTI rights within feminist advocacy.
Over three days, we’ll engage in collective learning, policy discussions, and political networking, touching on key EU and Council of Europe processes in the fight against gender-based violence. We will look into transposition of the VAW Directive, Istanbul Convention implementation and shadow reporting, the EU Gender Equality and LGBTIQ Strategies, and more. It will be a chance to meet key stakeholders, have fundamental discussions and strategise together on how to unify our advocacy efforts at the national, regional, and international levels.
We will provide accommodation, reimbursement of travel expenses, and cover lunch and dinner throughout the programme. Please note that we can’t reimburse meals during your travel days, while we can reimburse public transport to and from the airport. Please note, that due to funding restrictions we can only cover participants that travel from within the EU.
Only one application per organisation will be considered. Individual members (accepted before 16 February 2025) are also warmly encouraged to apply. If we receive more applications than places available, we will make a selection, trying to ensure a geographic balance and diversity of experiences.
The programme will be held in English. You don’t need perfect fluency to participate—what matters most is your engagement. If language may be a barrier, let us know, and we will do our best to support you.
📝 Apply by 27 of June at midnight (link below).
We can’t wait to welcome you to Brussels to learn, plan, and fight together.
