Over the past three months, EL*C has been working on shaping the future of EU equality policies. The Union of Equality must deliver for all – including lesbians in all our diversity.  

We have gathered evidence, participated in consultation meetings, engaged with our members, compiled data, and proposed policy solutions to ensure that lesbian lives, needs, and rights are visible and addressed. The upcoming Gender Equality Strategy, LGBTIQ Equality Strategy, and Anti-Racism Strategy are key opportunities to advance our rights across the EU. 

These reports draw on data from activists, EL*C surveys and research, as well as EU bodies, and show that much more can be done to support lesbian rights in the EU. From combating lesbophobia and gender-based violence, to protecting racialised lesbians from intersecting forms of discrimination, to ensuring full participation in public life and addressing socio-economic inequalities, the EU now has the chance to turn commitments into real change. 

EL*C will continue to push for a true Union of Equality, where lesbian needs and specificities are never left behind.
