Lesbian Resistance Practices Report
This report by La Tortiteca presents findings from an open survey gathering strategies, actions, and approaches developed by lesbian movements across the European Union, as part of the “Fight Like A Dyke*” project. Combining qualitative narrative responses with orientative quantification, it profiles participants (66% individual activists, 34% entities; concentrated in Catalonia/Spain but spanning Germany, Portugal, France, Italy, Greece, Latvia, Romania and Belgium), their years of experience, migrant presence, and territorial scope of activism. It documents concrete resistance actions and territorial events, reflects on the future of lesbian* activism, and closes with interpretive considerations on political incidence. Key conclusions frame “lesbian*” as an open, relational political stance intertwined with trans*, migrant and racialized struggles, note that visibility and community-building outweigh formal rights-based framing as shared goals, and call for expanding what counts as political advocacy to include self-management, memory work and territorial organizing — alongside a paradox where perceived risk is low despite normalized lesbophobic violence.
