Dr Rebecca Crowther

Dr Rebecca Crowther is a transdisciplinary ethnographic social researcher. She has recently published her first book: Wellbeing and Self Transformation in Natural Landscapes* and is now hoping to join Heriot-Watt’s Intercultural Research Centre this autumn with her new research project: Women in Dark Rural Landscapes: Vulnerability and the Self. This post-doctoral research aims to decipher in what ways cultural and personal narratives act as a lens through which women in Scotland encounter and experience darkness and other material objects within rural excursions at night. Rebecca is also a policy officer at Scotland’s leading LGBTI human rights, equality and policy charity, Equality Network.
