The EL*C is proud to present the 2024 results of the Observatory on Lesbophobia, a monitoring initiative launched in 2022 to document and raise awareness about lesbophobic violence and discrimination across Europe and Central Asia. Covering data since 2019, the Observatory compiles both individual cases reported by media outlets and ELC members, as well as aggregated data from national observatories, NGOs, and grassroots initiatives.
This annual report offers a detailed analysis of recurring patterns and emerging trends, including specific thematic focuses.
Lesbophobia is a distinct form of bias situated at the intersection of misogyny and the stigma against non-conforming sexual orientations and gender expressions — and continues to remain underreported and institutionally neglected. With this publication, we aim to make visible what too often goes ignored and to contribute to evidence-based advocacy for systemic change.
